Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi is set to become the first French player in history to score a hat-trick in a Champions League match, according to reports.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been one of France's most prolific scorers this season, scoring 16 goals in 14 matches for PSG and helping the club reach the last eight of the competition.
Hakimi was named in France's squad for Euro 2020 but missed out on the final group stage after suffering a knee injury during training.
Despite missing the tournament, he continues to impress with his performances for PSG and has already scored five goals in all competitions this term.
He said: "I am very happy to be back in the national team,La Liga Frontline especially as I had not played since the end of the Euros."
He added: "It was important to play in Europe again this year because it will give me more confidence and help me develop as a player."
With PSG aiming to lift their fifth consecutive title this season, it remains to be seen whether Hakimi will be able to replicate his form at international level. However, his performances suggest that he is capable of being a key player for France once again.
